Coralie Goumarre is the first woman in nine generations to have taken the reins of this family estate and she is doing exceptional work. Her Chateauneuf-du-Pape is driven by low-yielding Grenache (28hl/ha for the nerds), but enriched with a little Mourvedre. Everything is picked by hand and the grapes are hand-sorted before gaining access to the press. Chateauneuf-du-Pape is always rich, but when tenderly handled it can actually be quite elegant too and that's the case here.

Press review:

The Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape offers lots of garrigue, spice and lavender in its core of plum and darker-styled fruits. Medium-bodied, elegant and impeccably made, it has enough depth and richness to drink nicely through 2023." 89 points
