Intensely sweet aromas of strawberries abound and it takes a moment to remember that you are inhaling an alcoholic beverage not a prize-winning punnet at a harvest festival. It's a blend of Garnacha and Cariñena, so one would expect the aromas to be bang in the middle of the red fruit spectrum, but boy-oh-boy are they effusive. The palate is more serious and you can pick up the telltale trace of terracotta, which indicates that the wine has been aged in amphorae.

There's something wonderfully opulent and jewel-bright about the fruit, evoking cherry granita, shiny red plums and rosehip, which can be attributed to the vineyards being at 3,000 feet above sea level, in an unusually rainy part of Spain (west of Madrid), so the grapes get warm days, cold nights and plenty of hydration, which isn't always the case in central Spain, despite what Henry Higgins had so say on the matter. 14% alc. Unfiltered. Drink now-2022.
