"The quality is mind boggling for the price." - The Wine Advocate

An ultra-fine red from Tenerife, more like a watercolour than a wine. It's light and ephemeral, a ghostly expression of time and place. The trainspotters will want to know that it is made from Vijariego Negro, Negramol, Moscatel Negra, Listán Negro and Listan Gacho aged in neutral oak for 8 months. The rest of us will want to enjoy its elegance and its food-friendly red berry acidity and the distinctive volcanic, mineral crunch that comes through in perfect balance with the succulence of the gentle fruit to make a wine that whispers its flavours. 12% alc. Drink now-2025.

Press review:

The Wine Advocate: "Cropped from a cooler and subtler vintage, the village red 2016 Táganan Tinto had only been in bottle for a couple of weeks when I tasted it. The vineyards are old, on red, basalt and sandy soils planted with mixed varieties, worked manually and replanted burying a branch from another plant. This is only 12.2% alcohol, a subtle red matured in neutral, well-seasoned oak barrels for 11 months. The quality is mind boggling for the price asked. 5,500 bottles were filled in October 2017." 93+ points
