"This is without question one of the very finest wines being made in Tuscany today in its price range.”  - The Wine Advocate

The 2013 Le Cupole from Tenuta di Trinoro is a sumptuous beauty. Deep crimson in colour it offers up heady scents of glossy blackcurrant, black tea, cinnamon and wood polish, but the aromas aren’t like a teaser rate, there’s depth and substance to the palate too, and, just like another of my favourite Tuscan wines, Le Macchiole's 'Paleo', it shows just how luxurious Italian Cabernet Franc can be, especially when plumped up with a little Merlot. There's a velvety richness that gives the initial impression of a ripe, young Saint-Emilion (Cheval Blanc anyone?), but its Tuscan features also shine through with hints of wild cherry and dusty terracotta tannins. Enjoy this beauty now for its youthful exuberance or tuck it away for up to a decade and enjoy it in what will surely be its magnificent maturity. 14.5% alc. Drink now-2032.

Press reviews:

Antonio Galloni: “The 2013 Le Cupole di Trinoro hits the palate with racy dark cherries, mocha, plums, espresso and new leather. Radiant and deeply expressive, the 2013 is a great introduction to the Tenuta di Trinoro wines. Cherry compote and cinnamon are some of the notes that shape the super-ripe, opulent finish. Le Cupole is the second selection of fruit and barrels that don't make it into the top wines. It also happens to be a terrific value.” 91 points
