We confess to being a bit late to the party when it comes to Beaujolais, but before you turn your back on us to face your hipster friends all drinking Chiroubles from a test tube, you must remember that we grew up in a time when Beaujolais looked and tasted like cherry lollipops. The annual 'Beaujolais Nouveau' circus turned us into Bojophobes, recoiling from the nasty banana and bubblegum flavours of Gamay newly drawn from the tank and we had no idea that wines like this existed. Wines that stand on a par with great red Burgundy, aromatically-nuanced and seductive and capable of significant improvement with age. We seek forgiveness and offer this extraordinary wine as a token of our contrition.

Press review:

Jancis Robinson.com: "The colour is dense ruby with a light purple rim. Bouquet: citrus fruit (orange peel), sour cherry syrup, champignon mushrooms, earth and rock. The palate is powerful and mineral (rock and earth), with marked liquorice, excellent length, great for pairing with food." 18.5 points
