Kai Schubert has really come up trumps here. This is supposedly his 'entry level' Pinot Noir, but anyone who has enjoyed his 'Marion's Vineyard' or 'Block B' Pinot Noirs will find this to be of a similar kidney, lacking a little of the structure and outer reverberations of the single vineyard wines, but utterly delicious nonetheless. It blends mellow autumnal fruits, like rhubarb and plum, with woody exotica like black balsam and kola nut, finishing with a real juicy moreishness. 14% alc. Drink now-2022.
