Stop whatever you are doing. Yes, you. Seriously, stop. You can do that later. He'll survive. This demands your attention. I mean it. OK, carry on with the chest compressions if you must, but you can read this at the same time, because this is one hell of a wine.

An absolute screaming bargain! Tons of character for a wine at this price and, although it's made using 'natural' wine-making practices, it doesn't let the dogma get in the way of the fruit. We love a good 'natural' wine as much as the next man, but the important word in that sentence is 'good', while the word of secondary importance is 'natural'. It's a pure Garnacha, hand-harvested from low-yielding old vines grown at altitude in Calatayud. Deep glossy plum in colour, it has aromas of chopped cherries, fragrant damson skins, purple flowers and raspberry tea, as well as a hint of forest floor to give it woody complexity. The palate is juicy with notes of sweetly succulent red berries, eastern spice, aromatic bark and hibiscus jelly. It's rich yet silky and no more than medium-bodied with a sheen to the acidity that polishes the fruit to a high shine. The tannins have a light grip that make it savoury and interesting and it can be drunk with or without food. 14.5% alc. Drink now-2020.
