There may be an element of suggestion at work, but this wine does seem to have particularly jewel-bright fruit. Comparisons to Burgundy get trotted out every time a new Oregon Pinot Noir appears on the scene, but the inspiration for Scott and Dana Frank is the Loire not the Cote d'Or. They make their wines in an underground urban winery in Portland and focus on fresh styles with relatively light alcohol and a notably food-friendly character.

Press review:

Jancis Robinson.com (Tamlyn Currin): "Smells of apricots and dried cherries. Gorgeous intensity and a real buzz on the tongue. Bright, ripe, dark cherry fruit and orange peel. Vibrant vitality, delicious, cheeky, lip-smacking. Huge fun. Chill? Drink 2017-2020." 16.5 points
