Aroma is a wonderful thing, but it needs to be dispensed carefully. Wander past a department store's perfume counter and you risk being asphyxiated by an orange-faced assistant using an atomiser like it was pepper spray. Equally, some aroma molecules are so subtle that you need a microscope to find them. This wine seems to have the prefect release mechanism, dispensing the most gorgeous aromas with just the right amount of intensity, showing strawberry, kola, satsuma and that intangible, magical quality of great Pinot Noir that evokes molten rubies! The palate is ultrafine, with talcum-soft tannins and a delicate, yet fruit-filled finish that washes over your palate like a watercolourist using redcurrant and cranberry juice instead of paint.
