A delightful and expressive non-vintage blend of Syrah (55%  from 25 year-old vines), Carignan (40% from 75 year-old vines) and Grenache noir (5% from 70 year-old vines) from 2015 (10%) 2014 (55%) 2013 (20%) 2012 (10%) 2011 (5%). Got it?! The mix is a vibrant, Rhone-inspired joy to drink, a serious wine, seriously constructed, but which doesn't take itself too seriously. Aromatic and perfumed, it has complex black and blueberry fruits, scrub brush/wood-like, resinous herbs, exotic pepper and assorted floral notes, and this beauty hits the palate with a supple, medium-bodied profile that carries sweet yet tangy fruit, light tannin and an excellent finish. It’s a delicious and character-filled and so easy to drink! Drink now-2020.

Press reviews:

Jancis Robinson.com (Tamlyn Currin): "This smells of the soil. Slate dust and petrichor. Plums dropped on August-hot bricks. Beautifully pure, the scent of Roussillon, and on the palate, beautifully shaped red fruit. Vibrant and dense without an ounce of heaviness. Deeply garrigue-scented throughout, a woody-lavender lift on the finish. Just a brush of fine tannins. How is it possible to deliver so much flavour and complexity in just 12.5%?! Drink 2017-2022." 17 points

The Wine Advocate: “An exciting new project involving Gerard Gauby (of Domaine Gauby), who is a part owner, Le Soula lies to the west of Perpignan, high up in the hills of the Fenouilledes region. The wines are made by Gerald Stanley (also a part owner) and are first-rate, with the whites being some of the best to come out of the region. If you get a chance, don’t miss these.”
