“Dramatic and flaring, dark and opulent. Very seductive.” - Jancis Robinson

A beautifully aromatic and harmonious wine, it floats across the palate as silkily as that moment when you are cutting wrapping-paper and the scissors suddenly glide unaided. It’s a blend of Carignan (80%) and Grenache (20%) from vines ranging between 80 and 109 years of age. The vineyard is organic and situated in the splendidly-named, Vallee du Paradis, one of the South of France’s new local classifications that were created in 2009 to give protected status to smaller vineyard areas. It spent 12 months in Burgundian oak barrels (8% new), which has tamed Carignan’s rustic side, so the wine is elegantly perfumed, with floral notes and a glossy richness that flows onto the subtly beautiful palate. 14.5% alc. Drink now-2023.

Press review:

Jancis Robinson (Tamlyn Currin
): “Dark, roasted fruits; mulberries and molten chocolate. Incredible mid-palate dance of cassis and intensity and velvety coffee. Dramatic and flaring, dark and opulent. Very seductive. Drink 2018-2022” 16.5 points

Customer comments:

“The red that you delivered yesterday is spectacular. The nose is complex and, for a 2016, the primary flavours are lovely. But, it’s the secondary flavours of violets and blueberries that bowled me over. It’s stunning.” - Mr L.E.

This wine is really awesome - so pleased I let myself be beguiled by your write up. Is there more of it?” - Mr. M.B.
