The first release of a Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) from Wiston Estate. A luxurious vintage sparkling wine with 38 months ageing in the cellars, which has conferred a full, rich, slightly toasty character to the wine.

Decanter: "Appealing, generous, toasty, buttery nose. Refreshing acidity enlivens some rich flavours of baked apple and buttered tea cakes. Full and broad mouthfeel, charming dry note on the lengthy finish. Drink 2016-2030. Alc 12%." 94 points

Jancis Robinson: "38 months on lees, 50% old vines. Superb fruit clarity - really broad and fleshy and succulent. Wonderful fine texture and pith with great persistence. Needs much more time to develop further, but this is bursting with potential." 17.5 points

Jancis Robinson.com (Julia Harding): "More bready than the NV, perhaps even a hint of ginger but also a nice dusty/aspirin note. Intense, yeasty and full-flavoured on the palate, ripe citrus with a touch of honey. Impressive intensity and even better harmony than the NV." 17 points

The Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Blanc de Blancs has a complex bouquet: malic at first with green apples, later hints of white chocolate and white peach fruit. The palate is marked by bracing acidity but retains excellent balance. Green apples as you might predict with yellow plum and a hint of apricot, leading to a very harmonious and attractive finish. I envisage this giving several years of drinking pleasure." 91 points
