La Bota No 80 is a bottling of a single cask, a "Bota No" of a small and lovingly tended solera of 15 barrels of Manzanilla Pasada. This is the first barrel, kept right next to the door, in the cellars of Bodegas Hijos de Rainera Perez Marin in Sanlucar and the La Bota No 80 is the latest release from this barrel following the previous editions of La Botas 20, 50 and 60 all of which were highly revered wines.

Press reviews:

Jancis Robinson:
“From a single cask of ‘very peculiar character’, located at the extreme of the solera. The average age of this wine is approximately 15 years. The intense biological character of this wine is due to the fact that the butts are filled up to a tocadedos level – well above the five-sixths mark that is common in the sherry district. Bottled December 2017. Medium gold. Gorgeously deep and complex aroma. Like non-sweet butterscotch but also with an unusual steely character, and hay and dried grasses in the sun, plus an aroma that I associate with bitter tangy flavours but cannot connect with a particular fruit. Smells somehow chalky. This wine has the amazing ability to make you salivate even before you taste it, and even more so when you have tasted it. Incredibly intense and it seems to search out the back of your palate. Endless, glorious. VGV (JH) 16.5%. Drink 2018-2023” 20 points
