The Wine Advocate: "Albariño 2014 Leirana Finca Genoveva comes from an old pergola vineyard (80% of the vines are thought to be over 180-years-old!). The grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts and without temperature control in oak foudres, and were kept in contact with the lees without racking (or bâttonage) for one year. It's surprisingly more open than the regular Leirana, mixing the sea and soil sensations with lemon zest, white pepper and grapefruit, and even some aromatic herbs (mint?). The palate is sharp as a razor, ultra-focused and defined, vertical, precise like cut with a laser. A dry Mosel meets Puligny with granite electricity? Super! 4,000 bottles produced. I tasted a gobsmacking collection from Forjas del Salnés, without a doubt one of the leading producers in the Rías Baixas region of Galicia." 95 points

Jancis Robinson: "Very reductive and fruitless with a marked mineral expression. Harmonious herbal sensation showing fennel and dill. Extremely vertical, fluid and well defined. Still nervy, but elegant, I am sure it will keep for a long time. Pure outstanding Albariño based on a fascinating backbone acidity. (FC) " 17.5 points
