Riesling lovers will immediately pick up the scent that they know and love on this wine, even though it comes from vineyards on the coast of Uruguay. We’ve loved the Albariño from this producer in the past and this Riesling shows that they have a real knack with aromatic varieties. There’s a wonderful intensity of breezy lime and peach on the nose, but where it grips you is with that famous ‘whiff of the forecourt’, the telltale aroma of a mature Riesling. In Germany, those petrol aromas tend to appear later, so it’s interesting to taste a wine that in which the zippy citrus notes of youth and the developed notes of maturity coexist. 13.5% alc. Drink now-2022.

Decanter
: “Very limited production. A relative newcomer, Uruguay is starting to make a name for itself with red Tannat but also with its aromatic whites. This is a restrained style of Riesling with crisp apple and lemon zest flavours. A focused wine with bright acidity and a rich and weighty texture, leading to a taut, lemony finish.”
