"Great stuff!" - Jancis Robinson MW

The new vintage of Aristargos is a blend of 12 different vineyards, mainly focused on older bush vines. A small percentage of Semillon from a vineyard planted in the 1950s is blended with Chenin Blanc (oldest block planted in 1966), Roussanne, Clairette Blanche and Viognier.

Jancis Robinson: "35% Chenin Blanc, 23% Roussanne, 15% Clairette, 19% Viognier, 8% Sémillon (the Viognier being described as 'Viognier 1996' on the back label). Intriguing, dense nose that suggests there is much more to come. Very rich start - almost Grasmere gingerbread (including the cut peel), a hint of saltiness - and then admirable freshness. (Is this the Paardebosch soil? the Clairette and Chenin?)  Very complex with real chew and layers. You could enjoy this already but I feel it will develop too. Great stuff!" 17 points

Jancis Robinson.com (Tamlyn Curryn): "Cool and pure on the nose, meadow scented. Spicy. Complete and soaring with energy. Apple skin and candied citrus peel and a compact density of flavour that reverberates in the mouth. Great depth.! 17 points

The Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Aristargos is a blend of 35% Chenin Blanc, 23% Roussanne, 15% Clairette Blanche, 19% Viognier and 8% Semillon. It has a captivating bouquet with lanolin, pressed flower and subtle nectarine aromas. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, lively and vibrant with nuanced fresh ginger and lemongrass notes that impart a judicious spiciness towards the finish. The 2014 was excellent and this might be even better." 92 points
