Not as overtly ‘volcanic’ as some of the more extreme Etna Biancos, which can taste like an ash cloud falling on a lemon grove, but a distinctly fresh and lively glass of wine, combining quince, white peach, lemon and a sense of streamwater flowing over large grey pebbles, which I can’t explain in any less esoteric terms, so there. Drink now-2021.

Press review:

Vinous:
“Bright straw. Harmonious, lively aromas and flavours of white stone fruit and aromatic herbs. Bright and juicy, with a refreshing saline bite on the long smooth finish. Less concentrated than some past vintages of Etna Bianco from Terre Nere, but remarkably fresh and easy to drink. A lovely Etna Bianco that mercifully doesn’t taste of Chardonnay or other varieties that have no place on Etna. This is a steal for the price.” 90 points
