The Wine Advocate
: "The ripe, creamy-textured 2016 Coddington Chardonnay also boasts a crisp, tight line of pineapple and citrus that pulls the wine together and gives it depth and shape on the palate. Toasted grain and white peach notes provide much of the flesh, but there's also a silky, custardy feel on the palate, extending through the lengthy finish." 93 points

Jancis Robinson (Tamlyn Currin): “Similar smoky nose to the Kumeu Estate but an edge of baked creamy oats porridge here. Much more stony on the palate: peaches carved in pebbles. Smart, sophisticated, intense, tight as harp strings. Long and fabulous. I’d gladly pay the extra £5 – this is such a big step up.” 17.5 points

Raymond Chan: "Brilliant straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-gold hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is fine in proportion with good breadth and depth of ripe yellow stone fruits, peaches and citrus fruit, along with subtle creamy barrel-ferment and spicy, nutty oak elements adding richness and detail. This is an expression of elegance with underlying richness. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly rich and plush with an integrated core of ripe yellow stone fruits, peaches and citrus fruit, with fine creamy barrel-ferment and nutty, spicy oak flavours. The mouthfeel is smooth in flow and gently mouth-filling, possessing integrated acidity, growing in depth, weight and lusciousness as it carries to a soft, sustained finish. This is a beautifully harmonious, rich, integrated Chardonnay with stone fruit, citrus fruit, creamy barrel-ferment and spicy oak flavours on a smooth-flowing palate.
