It’s a badge of honour for any British wine merchant to have a DGM on their list and this is certainly one damned good Macon! A British wine buff, returning from their summer holiday in the South of France, will always leave space in the Mercedes for several cases of Macon to be collected en route from ‘a little chap near Beaune’, and will, if necessary, strap the labrador to the roof-rack to make extra room. Macons can be a bit humdrum, but this is a beauty and so good that the aforementioned wine buff might consider strapping their youngest child alongside the labrador.

Press reviews:

The Wine Advocate: "A fabulous Chardonnay that comes from the Sur la Roche (limestone) and Folland (more clay) lieux-dits, the 2014 Macon-Vergisson Les Rochers exhibits beautiful orchard and citrus fruits, toast and a kiss of honeysuckle on the nose. This gives way to a medium-bodied, nicely textured, racy white that has plenty of character. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years."

Jancis Robinson: "Broad and smoky with a hint of reduction. Juicy fruit with sort of salty apple juice on the finish. Quite an impact on the palate.Correct and obviously no oak."
