One of our customers amusingly referred to this as the perfect 'breakfast wine'. We amusingly referred him to the Portman Group. However, with its relatively light alcohol content of 12% and its perky, dry fruit, it does have a wonderful, bright-eyed freshness that makes it the perfect aperitif, fridge door or garden party wine. It's a dry, unoaked Moschofilero from the central Peloponnese and has a fine tension that keeps the white peach, lime and lychee fruits in check. Drink now-2017.

The Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Mantinia is all Moschofilero, unoaked and dry. Adding grip, concentration and power to the white label Moschofilero reviewed this issue, this lacks the concentration in the mid-palate that some prior years have had, but it is transparent and gripping, with fine tension on the finish. It tastes great, too, with a crisp edge. In its youth, this is going to be a pleasure to drink. That said, I think this is one that will age a bit faster than normal. Drink it young and fresh as I'm not sure it will stay at peak all that long. It is drinking beautifully now. It was one of my favourites this issue. I'm leaning up for the moment. Don't be surprised if you get a different answer this time in 2018." 90 points
