False modesty is just silly, so you’ll forgive us if we don't hide our light under a bushel or any other medieval method of measuring grain. Jancis Robinson MW calls it "tense and exciting", Tim Atkin MW listed it as one of his Top 15 South African white blends and Neal Martin of The Wine Advocate called it “superb” and gave it an outstanding rating. We have known Chris and Andrea Mullineux for over a decade and their wines just get better and better. This blend of Chenin Blanc, Clairette and Viognier has an abundance of sunny stone fruit flavours and a balancing cut of citrus, but Jancis Robinson says it best when she said “Imagine a blend of double cream and tarte tatin juice that wasn’t sickly.” 13.5% alc. Drink now-2019.

Jamie Goode: "Chenin with 13% Clairette (this ripens at 10% potential alcohol and brings freshness and beeswax notes) and 7% Viognier. From 2014 this will have Semillon Gris in it. Textured, fine and fresh with lovely bright citrus and pear fruit. There are hints of wax and herbs. Fresh and concentrated with good acid and lots of potential." 94 points

The Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Mullineux White is a blend of 7% Viognier, 80% Chenin Blanc and 13% Clairette including up to 80-year-old vines that is 100% barrel fermented with 15% to 20% new oak (foudre). It has a lovely nose of peach skin, apricot blossom, melted candle wax and just a faint fynbos/menthol scent. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight waxy, dried honey entry with hints of white pepper and lemongrass lending tension and vibrancy towards the zesty finish that displays good length. Superb." 92 points
