Press Reviews:

Jancis Robinson MW: “The name for this 2-ha vineyard was inspired by the inscription on a beautiful marble sarcophagus dating back to the Roman period that was found on the site in 1500. The single vineyard Orestilla has a unique soil composition: clay with high limestone content and rich in minerals. It is located south of the village of Montonale, south-facing with good sunlight exposition and ventilation. The bunches are hand selected and cooled before pressing. A soft pressing takes place in anaerobic conditions to avoid the oxidation of the aromatic compounds. Only the free-run juice obtained at very gentle pressures is used for the production of this wine. Fermentation occurs for about 10 days in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine is aged on its fine lees for at least eight months with constant lees stirring and it benefits from at least 10 months’ bottle-ageing before release. Salty and lively. Bright fruit and very dry and crunchy on the end. Real focus and tension. Excellent! However, if it were a little cheaper I would absolutely rave about this combination of fruit and drive.” 17 points

Jancis Robinson (Richard Hemming): "100% hand-harvested Turbiana. Single vineyard of Orestilla. 30% is fermented and aged in steamed (untoasted) 500-litre oak barrels. Real grip with hazelnuts and citrus fruit. Great structure – beginning, middle and end. Exciting with light and energising bitterness on the finish. Great stuff!” 17 points

Jancis Robinson (Tamlyn Currin): “Smells nutty and fresh green, of pine nuts and basil leaf, deep and intoxicating. Gorgeous sweetness and nuttiness and mouth-drawing zest on the palate – walnuts in lime syrup and melons and crystallised ginger. Wickedly pointed on the long finish. Drink 2018-2023” 17 points
