This is not a Sauvignon Blanc. Well it is, but it sounds quite clever to paraphrase Magritte, so that's why that just happened. That and the fact that it isn't your typical Sauvignon Blanc, because it's big and bold and rich and was fermented in oak, so it's textured and creamy and has lots of richness, but still with that lovely citrus and gooseberry dash that vitalises any wine made from this variety. It's a serious food wine and should be treated with the same awe and respect as a top Graves white, such as Domaine Chevalier or Pape Clement Blanc. Drink now with bold dishes.
