Only the second vintage from this exciting new Mâconnais producer and it’s a cracker! Plenty of depth and energy and a wine with clear aspirations to emulate some of the more renowned Burgundy villages. That’s not to say that it has turned its back on Pouilly-Fuissé, it still has the sunny disposition of that more southerly appellation, but there’s a sense of crushed stones and broken chalk, of land and fruit, that you tend to find more often in the terroir-driven wines of, say, Saint Aubin and Puligny-Montrachet. If Olivier Lamy made wine in the Macon region, this is what it would taste like.

Press review:

Jancis Robinson: “Impressive intensity for a village wine, lots of bright citrus and freshness. Pure fruited and well sustained with a stony, mouth-watering aftertaste. Good Value. Drink now-2023.” 17 points

The Wine Advocate: “The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé opens in the glass with an attractive bouquet of confit citrus, Anjou pear and blanched almonds. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy, with ripe acids, a nicely concentrated core of fruit and good tension at the core despite its expressive profile. This revitalized estate represents an exciting addition to the Mâconnais firmament. Drink now-2029.” 92 points
