“A wine that proves there is a future for Pinot in the UK .” - Tamlyn Currin for JancisRobinson.com

There’s something haunting and wuthering about this pale English Pinot Noir, as its aromas rise from the glass like a will-o’-the-wisp at dusk, combining classic Pinot Noir scents of red cherry and strawberry with the heady, sappy notes that come from ‘whole bunch’ fermentation and ethereal, ghostly notes of cold embers, gun flint, old books and firework smoke at dawn. 12.5% alc. Aged for a year in Burgundian oak barrels (10% new). Minimal intervention. 40% whole bunch. Unfined, unfiltered. Drink now-2027.

Press review:

JancisRobinson.com (previous vintage): “Really perfumed! Night jasmine over sweet cherry. Lots of paper-fine, dry tannins stitched through lean but ripe, refined fruit. Wild red berries. A little bit of herbaceousness, some white pepper and allspice. A very slight rim of bitterness. Delicate Pinot, but all in balance. A wine that proves there is a future for Pinot in the UK – and once again, grapes from Crouch Valley showing exciting promise.” 16.5 points
