Vinous: “The 2020 Malbec Cadus Appellation Tupungato hails from Gualtallary, Uco Valley and was 50% aged for 12 months in up to a third used barrels. Purple in hue. The nose offers notes of country herb, ripe plum and hints of blackberry, black tea and violets over a bed of wood. Indulgent and expansive with good grip and a juicy core, the finish offers oak and fruit notes. The 2020 is a rewarding red lent extra energy by the warm year. Drink now-2032.“ 93 points

The Wine Advocate: “The appellation range of varietal wines includes the 2020 Tupungato Appellation Malbec, produced with grapes from Gualtallary (mentioned on the back label) with only 40% of the volume matured in barrels for 12 months. It has an expressive nose of herbs, flowers and berries and a juicy but gentle palate. It's intense, like all wines from 2020, with 14.8% alcohol but with nice balance and very good freshness for a warm year; it transcends the vintage. Drink now-2026.” 91+ points

Customer comments:

“I ordered a bottle of this Cadus Malbec at a recent annual dinner and was really taken by it.  An old friend who was sitting next to me whose wife is Argentinian and who visits the country regularly said it was good before I even tasted it and how right he was.” - Mr H.L.
