As anyone who pays attention to our endeavours will know, we think Australia is a natural second home for Italian grape varieties, with the likes of Alpha Box and Dice having had huge success with Nebbiolo, Aglianico and Barbera and Gentle Folk have just thrown their hat into the ring with this delightful Sangiovese. It’s daringly nude and focuses on expressing the naked character of the grape without any oaky adornment, showing silky tannins and pure flavours of sour cherry, hibiscus and cranberry. 13.5% alc. 100% destemmed open topped fermentation for three weeks before closing the tank and leaving on skins for an extra three weeks. Pressed to French oak puncheons for 8 months. No added sulphur dioxide other than a small amount at bottling. Drink 2023-2030.
