You don’t often see wines made from 80- to 100-year old vines at this sort of price! It’s a blend of Doña Blanco, Verdejo and Palomino, aged on the lees in oak barrels for 3 months, but there’s no flavour coming from the oak, it was just a venue for all the grape varieties to get to know each other and by the looks of it they all got on famously. The wine is bright and juicy, evoking quince, apple and grapefruit, with a sense of ‘old vine’ concentration and weight that makes it feel quite ‘serious’. 13.5% alc. Drink now-2025.
