“Shares something of the energy that Rayas has.” - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com

Vinous: “The 2015 Old Vine Cinsault has an energetic, expressive bouquet of red cherry, wild strawberry and wild mint aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a precise, delineated, elegant finish. This is an absolute charmer, demonstrating the heights that South African Cinsault is now achieving." 94 points

JancisRobinson.com: “I hesitated over this, seeing the 12% alcohol and expecting an underripe style – but a note by Tam, and a recommendation from the shop manger, convinced me otherwise – and I'm so glad. It took a while, but when the nose opens up it is pure joy – there are the usual descriptors (red fruit, leather etc) but something much more vibrant and eloquent, certainly raw but shares something of the energy that Rayas has, or perhaps the most vibrant Blaufränkisch and Zweigelts from Austria. It's a journey, and I'm a fully paid-up passenger. (RH). 12% alc. Drink now-2022.” 17 points
