A wonder of lightness and precision; a hedonistic mix of immediate restrained pleasure and long-term intellectual provocation. - Decanter Magazine’s ‘White Wine of the Year’

A stunning, white-knuckle ride of a Chardonnay. Rocky mineral aromas vie with grapefruit and waxy lemons and slices of white truffle. If it were Burgundy, it would be a Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, jam-packed with tangy fruit and woody high notes, but it isn't, it's from an island 12,000 miles away in the Tasman Sea. Astonishing wine! 13% alc. Drink now-2036.

Press review:

Decanter: A wonder of lightness and precision; a hedonistic mix of immediate restrained pleasure and long-term intellectual provocation. An amazingly subtle and complex finish. I adore this wine. Drink now-2050.“ 99 points and Decanter ‘White Wine of the Year’.

The Wine Advocate:I was shocked at the intensity of the 2021 Chardonnay when I first tasted it. How could a wine so young have this much flavour? It is polished, glassy and graceful. It unfurls in the mouth and soars long over the horizon. It's balanced and powerful, crouching at this early stage, but all the building blocks of greatness are here. A wine of extension, expansion and elegance—a formidable trio.. Drink now-204198 points

Jancis Robinson MW: Fabulous tension on the nose. And a very broad, satisfying fruit that really fills in every space on the palate. Best yet!17.5+ points

Natasha Hughes MW: “The spicy oak is not yet fully integrated into the rich, dense palate. Still, there’s so much fruit here – white peaches, blossom, tangerine – along with that typical smoky note. The texture is silky, and although the acidity has that characteristically Tasmanian twang, it’s well balanced by the depth of fruit. The finish is long and savoury. Very promising.” 97 points

Richard Hemming MW: “Lifted, exotic, sulphidic matchstick aromas backed up by tropical fruit. Very intense. This has immense style and intensity, with lots of winemaking sophistication. Drink now-2029.” 17.5 points
