When we pour someone a glass of this wine, we won’t relax until they tell us that it’s smooth, but we are rarely in suspense for very long, because this is as smooth as red velvet. It feels as if each berry was given a deep-tissue massage before entering the press. It’s a great value Pinot Noir, enrobed with flavours of summer pudding and raspberry coulis, all held within a very supple frame and a relatively moderate 12% alc. Drink now-2030.

Light to mid cherry red. Fragrant with wild strawberry and raspberry and just a touch leafy. Light-bodied but with sufficient tannins to provide structure for the pure, juicy fruit. Extremely fresh and remarkably persistent. You could drink it now but I think it will be better with another year in bottle. So easy to drink without being simple. Jamie Goode: “This is supple and delicious with sweet ripe cherry and raspberry fruit, with a bit of cranberry crunch. There’s a finesse to this wine, and an ease, too. It doesn’t seem at all forced. Early picking has worked well here, with just a hint of green that works well with the ripe, supple fruit, and there’s no oak to be found. Just lovely.” 93 points
