“A lovely and well-priced wine.” - The Australian Wine Companion, 95 points

When it comes to Pinot Noir, I sometimes want to channel my inner Partridge, throw my windows wide open and shout: “I’m hopping mad and I just want something in the middle.” At one extreme, you have DRC with its pompous formality and embarrassing prices, while at the other you have hipsters drinking cloudy, unfiltered beetroot juice that they pretend is wine. Well, I’m hopping mad and I just want something in the middle, such as this perfectly lovely, mid-priced, mid-quality Pinot Noir from the up-and-coming Rob Hall in the Yarra Valley. It’s medium-bodied, medium pale and tastes of cherries, strawberries and cranberries. Drink it with a steak, cooked medium. 13.5% alc. Drink now-2030.

The Australian Wine Companion: “Mainly destemmed with a small number of whole bunches. Light bright crimson. Delicate and perfumed with strawberry, rose and lavender. The palate is equally delicate, with lovely persistence and balanced, svelte tannins. Finishes silky and long. A lovely and well-priced wine to drink now and over the next two to three years. 13.5% alc.” 95 points
