I challenge you not to smile after tasting this, it’s a bottle full of joy and delight! It pours the colour of those beautiful damask roses, which graduate from pink to orange, just at the point where you can’t say which colour it is [it’s not as deep as it appears in the photograph]. It’s a blend of Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau and fills the mouth with juicy red berries and white nectarine, but there’s a vinous side that corrects any frivolous silliness, brining it into the realm of quality rosé champagne, while a little smoky orange and strawberry shortbread add further intrigue (the latter from the lees ageing presumably).
