“A great Benje Blanco.” - The Wine Advocate, 94 points

“Beautiful salinity and flinty detail.” - Decanter, 92 points

Kapow! The aromas are so exciting and wonderfully evocative of Tenerife (a volcanic island in the Atlantic Ocean, in case you failed geography) and the wine has all the mineral, saline and maritime qualities that you might expect, but the fruit is there too, so it's a wonderful elision between the elements and the orchard, showing lemon, grapefruit, wispy smoke, crushed stone, lime, more crushed stone, and more lime. It’s a wine that would appeal to anyone keen on flinty Chablis or bone dry Riesling (sipped while sitting on the edge of a smoking crater). Organic. 12.5% alc. 100% Listan Blanco (Palomino). Drink now-2030.

The Wine Advocate:
The white 2023 Benje Blanco matured in a 2,500-litre oak foudre and neutral 350-litre barrels, while 65% of the wine was kept in concrete. They also selected finer lees for the élevage, and the wine seems to have gained in finesse. The white grapes didn't suffer the heat as much as the red ones, but it was not an easy harvest in Santiago del Teide. There's less oxidation, and the percentage of wine with flor yeasts (25% to 30%) made for finer wines too. There's a sensation of higher freshness, sharper; it didn't go through malolactic. It's also less reductive, and despite being a riper year, the alcohol was kept to 12%. It's a great Benje Blanco. Drink now-2029.” 94 points

Decanter: “The beautiful salinity and flinty detail of Envínate's take on Listán Blanco, with its trademark fleshy fruit, briny savouriness and textural minerality. Crispy Asian pear, quince and white peach are cloaked with a veil of delicious smokiness. Drink now-2032.” 92 points
