Press reviews:

Vinous: “The 2021 Chardonnay Newton Johnson Vineyards comes from two north-facing and one south-facing vineyards, matured for 11 months in barriques and demi-muids, then 6 months in stainless steel. There is a small reduction on the nose here, but that will blow off with time, nicely defined with touches of honeysuckle and peach skin coming through as time passes. The palate is balanced with a rounded, slightly waxy textured, phenolic opening. Lightly spiced towards the weighty finish, with a tang of bitter lemon on the finish, this is a very fine Chardonnay from Newton Johnson. Drink now-2038.” 92 points

Jancis Robinson MW: “Relatively deep colour – straw gold – perhaps because the fruit is treated more oxidatively. Just a hint of struck match. Spicy and interesting! Lots going on in this complex, persistent wine. The style here has evolved! Drink now-2028.” 17 points
