Sauvignon Blanc 'Les Nomades', Domaine du Changeon, Loire, France 2025
This wine should suffer from imposter syndrome, because it does a remarkable impression of a Sancerre in every way, except the price. In fact, it tastes more like a Sancerre than a lot of Sancerres do these days (I’ll spare you my rant on that subject), displaying crisp, frosty green fruits, shiso leaf, nettles, elderflower, gooseberry and lime sorbet. The palate has an appealing grip, slightly furry, like the underside of a nettle leaf, which is the distinguishing feature that I look for in a good Sancerre, but so rarely find (are you sure you don’t want to hear my rant on the subject?). 12.5% alc. Drink now-2029.
