Savagnin 'Vignes aux Dames', Rousset-Martin, Jura, France 2020
“This is now one of the finest addresses in the Jura.” - The Wine Advocate
From vines planted in 1947, one hectare in total in ‘Vigne Aux Dames’, one of the best lieux-dits in Château Chalon, where François Rousset-Martin makes ouillé wines with a long élevage. This matured in 400-litre barrels for three and a half years. 12.5% alc. Drink now-2033.
The Wine Advocate: “Like it did last year when I first tasted it, the wine shows superbly; I'd say it's even better now. This had a long aging, four years in cask. Even in a slightly warmer year, this is only 12.5% alcohol, and it's serious, austere and highly mineral, energetic, vibrant and fresh, with a long, dry and salty finish. It's aging very slowly. Drink now-2034.” 97+ points
