Winemaker, Vanessa Cherruau, is on everybody’s lips at the moment, as should be a glass of this wine. It’s a stunning Savennieres, the Loire’s most prestigious appellation for dry Chenin Blanc. It shows the crisp, lean, chiselled character you would expect from a northern French white, but it’s counterpoised by some succulent green melon, yellow plum and lemon sorbet notes, while the influence of the oak brings a little swagger and panache and gives it Burgundian undertones, yet it remains defiantly local in its mineral-driven, precise, crystal-clean palate. 13% alc. Aged in barrel for 15 months. Drink now-2034.

Certified organic and biodynamic .

Press review:

Decanter: “Vanessa Cherruau describes this wine as 'aristocratic' compared to her Anjou Blanc wines. Although the soil types are similar, Savennières has crumblier schist soils, which naturally produce wines in a more delicate style. This example has a soft, honeyed nose and gentle, delicate palate. Beautifully balanced, elegant and fine, it finishes with a combination of sweet fruit and a mouthwatering, salty note. Biodynamic.” 94 points
