At just 13% alcohol, this joyful Pinot Noir combines lightness of touch with a counter-intuitive intensity of aroma and flavour and has that intoxicating Pinot Noir scent that Burgundy lovers crave, yet it’s fun to drink (so moreish!) and that’s the key to great Pinot Noir. Serious Bordeaux can become an intellectual exercise in deconstruction, whereas this is purely hedonistic. Justin has tightened every key until it is perfectly tuned. The treble notes are seductively perfumed, displaying summery rosehip, wild strawberry, succulent cherries and cola, while the bass notes resonate with more autumnal hedgerow and orchard fruits, plus a twist of spice and a gentle flourish of violet adding further to its charms. It’s absolutely delicious now (so no need to defer gratification), but it will age gracefully for another couple of years. 13% alc. Drink now – 2023.
